Ever since I was a child I have had mild sinus issues and used to catch cold rather easily. It leads to bad digestion also due to constant mucus formation. Although I was not looking for a “solution” for this issue particularly but I got to know about one ayurvedic oil which is supposed to tackle this issue and also enhance a person’s memory and brain power.
Product: Jyotishmati or Malkangni oil
Where to procure: Its sold separately by patanjali and other brands and is also added with other ayurvedic products.
This is the one I am using:

The enhancing memory part fascinated me so I immediately started devouring more information on this and here are some links:
So I decided to inculcate it into my routine because who does not want a reduced stress, calmer mind and better memory? I will start it from november 14th and at first use it everyday for minimum 2 months. I will continue to update any changes that I feel from it and if no betterment then I will simply drop it.
day 1: November 14 update: I started it a day early (yesterday) as i caught cold and wanted to test it out. when I first used it i felt someone has manufactured it just to take some sort of revenge on me by pouring red chilli into my nostrils, it was quite discomforting and there was also a fear that I might pour more than two drops.
Result obtained after first 2 days of use: Does it help with cold – hands down yes, however for the first 10 minutes it burns so bad that you feel you are suffering for the sins committed in your past lives. Nevertheless I will continue it since the commitment has been made.
Here are details on how I am using it:
Dosage: 2 drops in each nostril(I will buy a separate dropper also since the product does not have it included to make sure the dosage is not exceeded).
Time: Morning since after taking it for some time I should not consume anything else.
Till now I have not taken up any evening routine yet, because experience tells me sticking to a morning routine in long term is hard enough and good enough. My routine has just four simple components: warm water+wheatgrass+drishti eye drop+jyotishmati oil. And on Sunday evening head massage.
I am fighting my own instincts to keep things as less as possible this time and also as simple as possible even though every type a fiber in my body is screaming that ‘lets hasten the process and get results faster’ but no this time I wont do that.
Big changes can wait, we will take micro steps and sustain them.
