She’s not Medha Shri, the talented girl who is the editor of os.me, nor is she a journalist (she’s both of course 😉) but here it is, she’s a magician.
I was completely blocked before I joined this workshop. After signing up I was apprehensive and wondering why I had joined because I’m not a writer, I’m not creative and so on and so forth but Medha is just fantastic. After half the work shop was done we had a 5 day break. During those 5 days I actually ended up writing 5 posts! One each day. That’s simply a miracle.
Medha is informal and intuitive, puts you at ease, has her facts straight, lesson plan ready and all the right writing tools to make you write. The icing on the cake is that she’s watching from background and commenting on every post and motivating you through her comments on your posts. Wow!!
3 things I learnt from the workshop..
1. Have a goal
Goal for the week, goal for the story, goal about what specifically do you want from the workshop.
Having a goal helped me a lot. I knew I had to do something creative with myself which is why the workshop. Write one post a day. (goal for the week) And catharsis (goal for my story) This simple instruction helped me write one post a day.

2. Overcoming procrastination (my biggest hurdle)
• Have a starting time and just do it!!
• Negotiate with yourself. (If I work for half an hour I’ll take a 10 minute break.)
• Watch out for the shiny object syndrome.
• Set a routine.

3) Title, photo and tagline.
It’s the title photo and tagline that first attract readers to your post. So take as much effort with these as you take with your actual writing. If it’s hard to come up with a tagline use a sentence from your story which is the most interesting. This really worked for me. I never understood the importance of a good tagline till I attended the workshop.

Thank you Medha.
