Keep your eyes in the sky—and walk about your life.

You know, at some point we realize that our life is actually empty—full of pomp and glory, signifying nothing! All the busyness, all endeavours, achievements and possessions—are still not enough, somehow, to fill our hearts. That there has been a buried sense of lack all throughout. It occasionally fills us with feelings of loneliness and pensiveness. But when it comes in greater intensity, we feel completely lost to this feeling—having no clue whatsoever what’s happening inside.

Have you had that feeling?

When you are thus lost, you are on the verge of a great discovery. It’s actually a blessing in disguise.

We rarely sit with ourselves patiently and watch this ‘entity’ that we call ‘I’. If you start to sit (metaphorically speaking) with yourself, not getting distracted, you will move towards a great realization about yourself—that there’s a very deep sense of incompleteness within you and nothing of this world can give you that fulfilment; that we are living a very superficial life—it doesn’t mean a thing existentially.

Before that realization, we eternally think that this is all that there is, this is my life, this is the actual life! But, alas! The moment we realize the truth about it, we realize what a folly we’ve committed all our life—we’ve lived only on the surface and thought this is everything!

Now I come to the point of this post. The line that I mentioned at the beginning simply implies this—

Have a bigger purpose in your life; find that deep purpose, and then go about your life.

If you don’t have that deep sense of working towards something greater in your life, your life will become shallow and shoddy. Under your folly, you’ll think that you’re living a great life—filled with so many things! But, you are illusioned!

Have you found any purpose which is greater than your life itself, greater than all your self-centred activities and pursuits? Then you are on the right track!

Reflect on your life—is this all? What am I doing and why? Do I have a purpose so great that I am ready to give myself completely to it, even if it takes many lifetimes?

If you’ve found that purpose, you’re nothing short of blessed.

Thank you for being here.
