I know it’s the first day of the new year, and we are excited. Some of us are chilling, partying, praying, and so on. Last night when somebody was wishing me a happy new year, I answered them Jokingly, and that was calendars are changing, dates are changing, but we are old.  Then I realized and reminded myself, what was wrong with me, and i was spoiling another person’s excitement and mine too. How will we celebrate life if we don’t celebrate these little things? Life is all about celebration. We are blessed that we survived another year and now entering into new year.

This year what I am going to do is explore. Explore my emotions, life, and health. I will be working more on my physical and mental health. Although I feel confident about handling my mental health but when it comes to physical health, I kind of screw. As today morning, when Sadhvi Nishtha Ji was reading swami ji’s blog post on resolution, there came his wise words and those were…… ”

The more specific you are, the better your chance of seeing your resolution through. For example, I will lose weight this year is not a good enough resolution. Because losing weight is something you wish to accomplish. It’s not the action or even the resolution. It’s the outcome.

A good resolution focuses on the action. Therefore, it is much better to say I’ll exercise four days a week or I will not eat desserts more than once a week or I’ll only eat salad for my lunch, and so on and so forth.

I was going to make a mistake by taking a resolution of losing weight, thanks to Sadhvi Nishtha ji and swami ji for showing me the right path. Now I am taking a resolution of  doing an exercise for five days a week. I was doing gym earlier and  trust me, that was the best time. I used to feel so good and relaxed. I am going to restart that.

So, we are all thinking of making resolutions, just remember this while making resolutions, ” take smaller goals and one thing at a time”, as swami ji says. So, my only resolution for 2023 will be to take care of my health.

I wish You all a very happy new year. You will be receiving my write-up every Sunday this year as well. Thank you for supporting and being kind to me last year, and thank you for keep reading my blogs when they were not that good 🙂

Keep smiling,

Thank you,

Riya Om
