An Ode to the Guru

The true master truly dispel all the doubts from within so that the path becomes crystal clear to you. All you have to do then is to walk the path shown by him. Yesterday, I bought a sketchbook for me so that I can try my hands on drawing a bit more. When I opened the book to draw, Swamiji’s face came infront of me  and I thought it deemed right to dedicate the first page to the master as an offering to his lotus feet. My sincere thanks to Sridevi ji as I have just copied his gurutoons image of Swamiji. 

Today afternoon, as I was looking at the sketch, a bhajan for him appeared intuitively and I was able to pen down the bhajan by his grace. Now, I was very scared to post the bhajan here thinking if this picture and bhajan could do any justice to the glory of our master and the feelings and devotion you all have for him, but knowing how kind and compassionate you all are and knowing the work ultimately belongs to him only, I thought you would be able to see some seeds of devotion sprouting for him in me by his grace alone.

O’ Sai mere, O’ Daataa mere,

O’ my Lord, my protector, O giver of all that I have;

Guru ban kar tum aaye,

You have finally come to me in the form of my guru;

Haan tumse upje, tum mein samaayen,

O’ Lord ,I came into existence from you, one day I will go back to you;

Tum hi raah dikhaayein yun banke guru,

And now, you have come to take me back, to guide me in the form of my guru;

O’ Sai mere……

O’ my Lord, my protector, O giver of all that I have;

You have finally come to me in the form of my guru;

Kitne Janam teri aas mein gujare,

O’ Lord, how many lifetimes I waited for you to come;

Kitne neer bahaaye,

How many tears I have shed for you to come;

Guru bankar phir aaye,

And now, you have come to me in the form of my guru;

O’ my Lord, my protector, O giver of all that I have;

You have finally come to me in the form of my guru;

Kal tak mere karam the mere,

Until yesterday, I was the doer of my actions, this little ego in me;

Ab kartaa tujhe paayein,

And now, I see you my Lord in the form of my guru doing everything through me;

O’ my Lord, my protector, O giver of all that I have;

You have finally come to me in the form of my guru;

Ab to teri raah pe chalnaa,

What more I can ask for O’ Lord, now I just have to walk the path sincerely shown by you to me in the form of guru;

tujhko hridaya mein samaaye,

I have do keep walking the path keeping you O’ Lord in the inner sanctorum of my being;
