Anastasia lived with her mother, Lady Tremaine, sister Drizella, and step sister Cinderella. Lady Tremaine hated Cinderella. In fact she hated almost everybody except her daughters. Cinderella was the sweet daughter of Lady Tremaine’s husband from his previous marriage. She was always treated badly in their house. She was made to mop the floors and sew their clothes and clean dishes. But she would do everything without ever complaining. And she was respectful and kind all the time That irritated Anastasia. A lot.
Anastasia was always watching her. How can anyone never complain! Nor get angry!
There were times when she wished Cinderella wasn’t around. She didn’t like her always smiling face.
One day she saw Cinderella playing with the animals and talking to the birds in their garden. Her heart melted a little. She loved animals herself and wondered if she could do that too. Talk to them like Cinderella was doing. She watched her for a long time. She looked so content.
Suddenly she thought to herself, maybe there was another way to behave with people other than the way her mother knew. Maybe she could be kinder and not so angry all the time.
Over the days she started looking at her family with different eyes. Her mother was always manipulative and controlling. She made sure that her husband (Anastasia’s step dad) was always under her control. There was constant bickering in the house.
The ball was announced for the Prince to find an eligible queen. Anastasia wondered if she was even cut out to be the queen. But she went along with her sister and mother. There in the palace she in awe at the beautiful and well mannered girl, the prince was dancing with. The girl reminded her of Cinderella. When it was revealed that the girl was indeed Cinderella, Anastasia wasn’t surprised at all.
That was the day she decided it was time to make a change in her life and turn it around!
Anger, hatred and disrespect towards others had to go from her personality! And no matter how difficult the road ahead was she was definitely going to turn over a new leaf!
