One of the blessings of being connected with Swami Ji over the years has been my love for poetry. I never like reading them but then something started to change in me and now I absolutely love them. I went back to Rabindra Nath Tagore’s Gitanjali and thought of sharing one of my favorite lines.
” The song that I came to sing remains unsung to this day. I have spent my days stringing and in unstringing my instrument.”
One of things I have been feeling lately is being able to develop a certain amount of awareness about whether I am singing my song or merely waiting.
One of the things I really enjoyed growing up was playing Squash. But then college and career happened and I got busy being busy. Recently I joined the local Squash club and am so excited about playing again. Another beautiful thing has been going on late evening walks and watching the beauty in the sunset twilight, looking up into the night sky and staring at the stars, the moon. Just experiencing the beauty of this creation strikes a beautiful chord in my heart! We got to start somewhere and not wait for that one day when everything will be hunky dory and the stars will be perfectly aligned for us. Instead we can think lets make today the day! When our heart feels what’s right, the right time to start on that is NOW.
I still don’t know what song I have come to sing. Thank God I at least I found that out ! Right now I am just building more awareness, mindfulness so I can drown out the outer noise of this world and maybe then, I can listen to the song that I have come to or meant to sing. In the meantime I take refuge in Swami Ji’s videos, his words are music to my soul.
I didn’t know how to end this post. So I thought of taking the opportunity to appreciate the work of Meera Ji (Meera Sharma) as her kindness and work with the needy in Delhi has been an inspiration and gave me an opportunity to contribute to the wonderful work.( and earn some kindness points on the Black Lotus app 🙂
