Dear Gibran,

I have come really far in my journey, following the steps that you carved for all the lovers and seekers. I can’t say how many I could climb up. I can’t even say whether they are taking me up to the supreme consciousness or down and further down to the eternal God residing in my own heart!

I was tested and “threshed” at each little move. At one point, it just felt like a bed of thrones I was walking upon since forever.

I kept going though, to persist- I chose.

And here in tick-tick and the silence of night, I can hear my reward.

I have come far indeed.

If it were not for you dear Gibran, teaching me LOVE through the words of THE PROPHET, how could I ever imagine to embark on such a long journey?

I bow down to you for the words of magic and wisdom you wrote. You became my God and The Prophet- my Gita.

My faith shook a lot of times, succeeding with restless sleepless nights. From the dark pit of hopelessness, each time you picked me up patiently, echoing words in my heart,

And think not you can direct the course of love…

Shells after shells kept breaking, my ego shattering more with each whip and blow. Waves of self-pity, depression and anxiety came along, yet again you whispered to my soul,

…for love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

When, I asked? When is it ever going to find me worthy? Is it just about pain and suffering? Am I ever going to experience joy for a long stretch of time?

You reminded me then,

But if in your fear you would seek only love’s peace and love’s pleasure,

Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love’s threshing floor,

Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears.

So I persisted and here I am- with my hands folded and a smile on my face,

willing to follow Love and more of it’s “hard and steep ways”. I am ready for some more of “crucifying”, “pruning”, “grinding” and “sifting”.

And one day I’ll be baked enough for “God’s sacred feast”, like you said Gibran.

Dear Gibran, thank you for finding me and showering divine words of The Prophet on me.

.

P.S. If you haven’t read the book ‘The Prophet’ by Khalil Gibran’ yet, and you read this post till end, then I guess it’s TIME for The Prophet to whisper words of wisdom in your ears as well. 💚
