Decoding Happiness

All I can do now is think of a moist piece of a cheesecake sitting at my desk.

But alas, just thinking about it has added two inches to my waist.

Cats sprawling around me are wondering why I am suddenly looking plump.

Does it mean that they will get treats along with my imaginary cheesecake?

“Enough said”, my left brain kicks in, “do you really need a cheesecake this morning?”

“For the love of god, I do!” I decide to fight back.

Gentle small bites of crumbling crust that open gateways to heaven and take me to beautiful places.

 Helping myself to the biggest piece always puts a smile on my face even on the darkest days.

 I know it’s not what I need, but it is what I want.

Just imagine this world without a cheesecake and how boring it would be.

Knowing that the existence of cheesecake is no more, would bring tourism down in so many countries.

Like Japan and Korea, maybe even Thailand; who knows.

Men go to remote parts of the world for a decent piece of cheesecake, believe you me.

No one can replace the original New York Cheesecake though.

Or the joy of licking the leftover strawberry topping from the side of my mouth.

Perhaps you ought to try it sometimes; it’s so worth it.

Questions about life and death disappear when I bite into a gooey cheesecake.

Rain starts to pour in my mind and beautiful orchids bloom with every bite.

Surely you have felt that kind of joy, the kind that wakes you up from your slumber and takes you to galaxies far far away.

Takes you to unknown places in your heart where dainty birds sing the songs of happiness and joy.

Unless you have been there yourself, you don’t know what you are missing.

Voracious and small eaters; all dig cheesecake I am certain of that.

Why would anyone not like cheesecake is just beyond me.

X-raying a cheesecake may reveal the hidden code to happiness.

Yet no one has done it so far; I wonder why.

Zen master loved cheesecake, obviously or else how did they reach enlightenment?
