Jai Sri Hari!

I was reading writings of Swami Chinmayananda, he beautifully defined the word Dharma, I’m sharing same with you:

Dharma means not righteousness or goodness but it indicates the essential nature of anything without which it cannot retain its independence existence. Moral and ethical codes of living are to be followed, if at all, in toto and as such. To add our own conditions and interpretations to them is to molest Dharma openly and serve our sensuous nature. Rank Dharma is far bette, friends, than compromise practice with insincerity.

Mind stands between two worlds, as it were, the upper of harmony and the lower of discord, chaos, etc. To the extent we will draw ourselves from the lower clamour and tune ourselves up to the sweet music of the higher, to that extent we are spiritual and divine. Whatever the method by which this is achieved those are all methods of religion. You become truly religious not by rotating malas, not by reading religious books or any other books, not by merely singing the glories of the lord, but by sincerely living in tune with the higher in you, the greater and the nobler in you.

Some addition from my side:

Each of the five fingers of the hand has its own peculiarity: each part of the body has its own function, high or low: the teeth may at times will bite the tongue, but since the whole of it is your own body, you accept all its ways and take great pains to look after every part of it. In the same manner, try to regard as your own in every person you contact. By making this a habit you will in due course come to feel that everyone in the universe is part of you. To abolish the distinction between ‘I’ and ‘You’ is the sole purpose of all spiritual endeavor.

I shared the picture of Deepak, it’s the flame of Dharma. In the darkness of this materialistic world it’s the flame of Dharma which shows us the right path. One flame can ignite many others. In Sanatana Dharma since ages we have this concept of lineage, from one Siddha to many Sadhaks, the path of liberation is showed. So next time whenever you say, I’m a Dharmik person, be sure of what  you are saying.

Enjoy your time with your Isht Guru.
