My father hosted a breakfast for his RSS (Rastriya Swayam Sevak Sangh) friends at our house a few days ago.  Because of their extensive experience, hearing them was like reading a good novel at times and watching a movie at others, making their company very interesting..

At breakfast, Dattatreya ji (an RSS Pracharak also known as Dattanna) shared with us an incident that occurred when he was in an RSS office while chatting with Prakash ji (a senior Pracharak). Prakash ji asked him ‘what is your eating habit, Dattanna?’

Dattanna was puzzled when he first heard this. “What?” he asked again. “How do you eat?” Prakash ji asked, ” like an animal, a person, or a child?”

Dattanna (Dattatreya ji) mulled who would eat like an animal and how children are far too immature to think and act. So he answered back confidently, ‘He eats like a human being.’

Prakash ji now explained why he asked this question. Dattanna, once the animal has eaten its fill, it will be uninterested in food until it is hungry again. Similarly, if the children do not want to eat, even if you insist, they will refuse. This man, on the other hand, even if his stomach is full, if asked, he will eat some or drink a few drops.

We may have seen many people who, despite being allergic to a specific food, choose to eat some of what he/she finds delicious. He doesn’t care if it’s healthy or not; if it appeals to him, he’ll give it a shot. That is why so many people become ill and develop addictions to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, and other substances.

What we eat has an impact on our energy levels, productivity, and focus. Food has an effect on our overall health over time. Eating the right foods has a big impact on our overall well-being. It is therefore critical to eat the right foods at the right times and in the right amounts.

Adopting a healthy eating habit will aid in resolving many of our health issues, including obesity, indigestion, and boredom. So developing healthy eating habits is one of the most important aspects of living a happy, healthy life.

So here’s my question for you: “Do you eat like an animal, a child, or a man?”

Peace and Love,

Narendra
