Mother Nature enlivens in Prabhu’s Presence

Another lucky day in my life, I was blessed to be a part of a Divine experience once more on 10th May, 2014. I was grateful to have the opportunity once again to attend an amazing discourse by Swamiji and to experience peace and see the Divine in His Bhaav with my own eyes.

It had been a long brutal winter for all of us but weather in Toronto was blooming now with the presence of Swamiji. It seemed we all were joined in along with the nature welcoming His presence. Nature was revealing how happy and positive she was, shining almost like a North star does and had a nice sweet fragrance as the blossoming tulips all around.

As always this discourse was arranged by the devotees. The venue was a temple this time too. We arrived at 1:35 pm in the afternoon. Everybody  looked happy and were talking about how the  Divine will bless us all once more with His Grace in a few moments from now. As always discipline and punctuality depict Swamiji ‘s life, the discourse started right on time. There was pin drop silence in the hall. No wait for us all. A short and sweet introduction was given in Hindi by a devotee after which the hall was filled with loud enchanting sound of conches being blown to welcome Swamiji as He was entering the hall. It seemed like everybody was enjoying His Glory. The conches could be heard while the pandits of the Temple lead Swamiji towards the tall Devi Maa  Moorti riding a lion, clad in the beautiful red saree, smiling with a spark in Her eyes. Swamiji paid obeisance to the Divine Maa.

Today I wanted to sit at the back again but somehow I had to move in the middle at the request of other devotees. So gladly I gathered some courage and moved my seat.  Swamiji was taken to the Vyaas Asana, where the Pandits recited Mantras. Long time ago I had witnessed and listened to those melodious and loud Mantras from Swamiji’s mukha too. It took me to the past, my eyes were wet but I didn’t let tears roll down my eyes today. As my mother in law once told me if you care for someone, Tyaag mein he pyaar hai. She always used to tell me, remind yourself of the scene when Sri Krishna was leaving Mathura and how Gopis were crying for Lord. Only Sri Radha Raani never came in front of Sri Krishna as she believed in sacrifice. Remembering this pure and divine incident gives me some act of braveness but not always, I’m trying to instil this in my life.

Swamiji started with reciting a Mantra glorifying the Maa, her names. Swamiji then asked all the devotees if the discourse should be done in Hindi or English. Half of us raised their hands in favour of Hindi and the other half for English. Swamiji laughed in his enchanting way and made the decision to do it in both languages by mixing them. Today’s topic was ‘How to be a good human being’. Three things were mentioned by Swamji. First was being Mriduta -Gentle and caring, second most important was Mudita -Being Happy and third was being Mriddata -Compassionate. Swamiji quoted from Sri Bhagvaad Gita and other scriptures and explained it to us how we were all running in our lives, we don’t take a pause to reflect, to ponder and be grateful towards everyone especially Nature. Swamiji also mentioned if we have only one desire at one time, nature will definitely help us fulfill  it but the condition is it should be the sole desire.

It was already 3:15pm, time for a break. More than an hour had passed like a blink. We were all spell-bound. Swamiji would have been so exhausted as well but we all were so greedy that we didn’t want Him to stop, like a small child in the candy store we wanted Him never to stop. But I was glad that this was a ten minute, short and crisp break as people in the temple were handed paper to write their questions which they had for Swamiji. Simultaneously Bhajans were recited by a devotee, she was so immersed in singing praise for the Lord Shiva.

Finally Swamiji came back in the hall and sat on the Asana. There were lot many questions today as well but Swamiji answered them all. Then the time came when we all stood up as Swamiji did this amazing Kirtan. Today Swamiji did Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. His hand raised up high, today his eyes were closed and He seemed to smile with His eyes closed as if He was just enjoying the presence of Divine Maa. I wanted to click his photo, my eyes were wet and I tried to take a shot from my camera but then I stopped. I just wanted to be in the moment now and forever. I’m reminded of a beautiful and famous poem today and would like to share with you all, few stanzas as follows:

The waves beside them danced;
but they out -did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils

This experience of seeing Swamiji in His Bhaav has added another beautiful and precious memorable moment as a pearl in the shell. I’m so keen to attend Swamiji’s last discourse which will take place in the month of June.

I’m thankful to the devotees who arranged this wonderful discourse.
