A Seeker Made It

My experience for all those who are yearning to see him:

At 5.26 p.m. on the 21st of October 2015, I met Swami Ji and found home. Let me be honest at the outset of this post that I have compromised on brevity while writing my whole journey here; I have tried to keep it as short as possible, so please bear with me.

It started with me in February this year, I was watching a video on Navratri on YouTube when one of Swami Ji’s video appeared in the suggestion thumbnails, I clicked on it and since that day I have never looked back.

I kept watching the videos, kept reading the blog, read his memoir, read everything that I could but the thirst wouldn’t quench. I knew it would only subside by meeting him. I tried meeting him thrice but didn’t get the confirmation from the Ashram, didn’t lose hope and finally on the 20th of July 2015, I got the confirmation for the November 2015 slot.

I took a sigh of relief that I would finally meet him but since I am an impatient type, I kept thinking that July to November was a long wait. The longing was intense. I kept thinking that if I could connect with some devotee to share and talk about Swami Ji then maybe it would help pass the time better. A miracle specially was round the corner. Suvi uncle (a devotee) appeared in the picture. He had couriered me some receipts from Ashram and on the envelope, I found his number. Swami Ji gave me just what I was looking for.

I connected with Suvi uncle and told him that I am looking to connect with other devotees, seeing my eagerness and yearning, he immediately introduced me to Jayant Om (an ardent devotee), a person who is always willing to help those who are keen to explore and know more about Swami Ji and Ashram. Thank you Suvi uncle for introducing me to Jayant.

Jayant was kind enough to meet me and we immediately shared a great chemistry. We would talk endlessly about Swami Ji and he would patiently answer all my questions. Our bond grew stronger with time and then came 20th September 2015, one of the most beautiful days of my life when Jayant took me to meet revered Ganesh Om Ji (we call him GG, so henceforth I will use this name). Thank you Jayant for taking me along to meet GG.

“GG is an epitome of Swami Ji, a receptacle of Swami Ji’s divinity, aura and purity. I was overwhelmed with his unconditional love and I shared with him my curiosity to meet Swami Ji. I believe it was at this moment that Mother divine and Swami Ji heard my zealous desire and things fell in place in such a way that I could visit Ashram a month before I was supposed to. Any number of thank yous cannot do justice to the gratitude I have for GG but still, thank you GG for hearing me out and blessing me”

February to October sum up to 9 months and I metaphor this as a gestation period, where a mother (Swami Ji) prepares and feeds the embryo (me) in her womb to only come out when he is ready to play in her lap, for those of you who are keenly waiting for your turn, I think I have demystified the wait.
Alright, so if you are not frustrated reading this far, I will now share the experience of meeting Swami Ji. I reached ashram at around 10.00 a.m. on the 21st of October. It’s a little bit of an uphill trek to Ashram. I saw Raghu Swami Ji (ashram’s resident disciple). I bowed my head to seek his blessings as he welcomed me to the Ashram.

Soon, I saw Shamta Ma (another resident disciple), fell in her feet to offer my pranams and she kindly blessed me by keeping her hand on my head. She is a mother to all the devotees who come to the Ashram; kind, compassionate and loving.

I was excited to see Raghu Swami Ji and Ma but the storm was brewing inside, a turmoil of emotions that where is my lord, where is Swami Ji, where is he but to blank me out, I got the news that he would come to meet us in the evening as he was extremely busy. It kind of killed me inside, as he was just 100 meters away from me, yet I could not see him for 6 more hours.

The hours passed and the biggest moment of my life came, Swami Ji came walking towards the meeting room to meet us and my my, what a walk he has. His walk is that of a king, no, an emperor. It brought a halt to the world around me, I was flabbergasted. I was the first one to meet Swami Ji.
I entered the meeting room and pooooffffff, like butter melts in front of fire, I melted. For the initial few moments, I could not believe my eyes that he was sitting in front of me, looking at me, smiling. Then he said something that I cannot express on this platform, but I can give you the essence of it, that is, he is looking at you each moment, he is listening to all your fervent cries, he knows all your deepest sentiments. Nothing goes unheard.

He then said, “I have a gift for you” and I started thinking of a gift wrapped box, and in a second he said “nothing material”, and we both laughed. Then he gave me the most unexpected and the most precious of gifts I could ever deserve, he gave me my real identity, he christened me as “Mohit Om” and I laughed the most beautiful laugh of my life.

We spoke of a couple of more things and my stipulated time to meet him was over (one generally gets 5-7 minutes to meet him and trust me it’s enough if you are empty), I came out of the room, absolutely blank, trying to comprehend what just happened with me. It took me a couple of minutes to come back to senses. I was full, just full of his love and affection.

The same day we all did aarti of Sri Hari, we had a discourse wherein I got the opportunity to ask him two questions, the gist of that discussion is “Inculcate purity in everything, purity of thought, speech and action” and “surrender”. We also got the opportunity to eat at dinner with him, in his divine presence; two more incidents happened in the dining hall where he took real care of me like a mother does for her child.

The night passed and it was 22nd October, day to leave, not even a single cell in my body wanted to leave but due to certain promises, I had to come back.

I got all that I asked for; he gave me everything I ever wished. He is a living form of Mother Divine, an embodiment of compassion, love and care. Apart from my immense gratitude for revered lord Om Swami Ji, I am thankful to Shamta Ma, Param Swami Ji, Raghu Swami Ji, Vidya Swami Ji, Ganesh Om Ji, Jayant Om, Suvi Uncle and other devotees at the Ashram for their love and care.

At last, for all those who seek his refuge, as Swami Ji said, “….Creatrix has room for you in her lap”, I say “Swami Ji has room for you in his lap”. Pray fervently, stay pure, read the memoir, follow his message of “Live.Love.Laugh.Give.” and in no time, he will call you to his abode, for if a sinner like me can make it to his feet, anyone can make it there.

Much Love,

Mohit Om
