Our job in this lifetime is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we ought to be, but to find out who we already are and become it” Steven Pressfield.

Reading the quote made me laugh and then made me ponder on the thought that, it is a deep one. From childhood, we have listened to

·         Be like him

·         Be like her

·         At your age, we used to do this, do that

·         If you would have our life, then you would know

·         You get everything then also you are like

And the list goes on. And my favorite

·         In our times, we used to walk Kms to learn.

This is not me, but yes, many of us who are the innocent victims of the more innocent culprits who don’t know that every one of us is unique and every one of us is different. We all have our strengths and weakness.

Remember, in many articles, motivational speeches, and movies, we have heard that we are the winners from birth. We are unique as we fought and won with millions of sperms and eggs to get our share in the womb of our mother. Yet after birth, till we die, we try to live the life of others.

·         I want to dress like him,

·         I want to speak like him

·         I want to dance like him

·         I want to look like him

·         Oh, I have lost much hair

·         Oh, I am getting old

·         Oh, I need to do something about my speech

It is perfectly ok if we want to improve and learn new things every day still we need to be better than our previous self, as it is the competition with self not other as the world won’t come to fight for you, but it is you who has to fight for yourself. You have to prove it to yourself. I need to improve, and I need to get better.

Thus, at this age, we need to find the right way on which we have to walk so that we become the best. As Swami always says, find your own truth, and the day you find it, you will be a new.

So, believe in yourself and not try to be someone else but be you.
