My dearest os.me family! Loads of love from the crazy little girl!πβ€οΈ
This is the continuation of a previous post. If you havenβt checked the other points yet, check it here- Part 1 and Part 2!ππΒ
7) Intellectual/Psychological Workout π€π€
One of my favorite Nigerian writers, Ben Okri, once said,
“Beware of the stories you read or tell; subtly, at night, beneath the waters of consciousness, they are altering your world.”Β
What we feed our mind is as important as what we feed our body. Swamiji says, “The stories we tell ourselves repeatedly becomes our reality.” Things that we tell ourselves come from the kind of information we absorb. These info shape our thoughts and ideas and those shape our actions. Actions? They shape our destiny.Β
What do I do?
1) Jump into His Lap! β€οΈβ€οΈ
Swamiji’s blogs and Videos. For me, this is non-negotiable. You might, however, choose to listen or read some other mentor whom you connect with. If however, you wish to listen to Him, here are the links – Videos and Blogs.
2) Jaadui Dabba!π±π»
Use that magic box for something good. Watch a video or two per day. I customise a playlist for the week on Sundays according to my priority. This week it’s self-purification. So, being mindful of whom I listen to (because I am letting their ideology/philosophy be a part of my psyche), I have created a playlist of 10 videos. This I got to complete in a week.
This, however, is not mandatory.
Tip: Try to take up one thing at a time and work on it. Late President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam used to say, “Only and only single-pointed concentration can bring the real transformation and manifestation.”
Tip: Try to avoid many sources. Too many cooks spoil the food. Take up one of two speakers and stick to their ideas. Because ultimately, everything is just a philosophy that one holds until we realise it first-hand.Β
The days or the weeks I don’t have anything particular to work on, I go with good movies. Fine Cinema can really lift up our spirits and give us a new perspective about life. Try the non-commercial ones. The ones created for the niche audience. Experiment with different genres- Art films, Short films, psychological, biographical, survival, Parallel Cinema, Noir etc. If you are into mystical stuff and at the same time bitten by the bug of curiosity, you may try the movies based on the theories of Quantum Physics. I have realised that good cinema rewires my mind silently and beautifully. You might try this as well if you like.
3) Teeny-tiny Friends! ππ
βA book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counselor, a multitude of counsellorsβ. – Charles Baudelaire
There’s a magical charm in the smell of an old book and the touch of the withered pages. Plus, you won’t run low on the phone’s battery! Saving electricity. That’s another RAK!Β
The second best thing, however, is reading electronically. In that case, we save paper! RAK it is!
Do it anyway but reading has to be a mandatory part of the day.Β Why? Find out here!
You can even add scriptures here. I personally love to read Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta Chapter 2 and 6 everyday. Keeps my craziness under check.ππΒ
4) Tera Yaar Hu Main!Β os.meπ
Nobody will ever judge you here. Play as you like and as long as you are loving and honest, people will play along with you. Must visit for your everyday dose of positivity and unconditional acceptance ππΒ
Our overall personality is influenced by the 5 people we spend most of our time with. When we read or listen to someone, we are spending our time with them. Be mindful of who you allow into your psyche. Be with the Masters and Adepts of their field and they will rewire your brain in line with theirs. Half of the work is done here.Β
8) Me-Time ππ
I keep this one on the list of non-negotiable stuff. A must if you are a seeker. A super must if you are a devotee. A super duper must if you are none of those and are just a human who wants to stay sane. I found these beautiful lines a long time back and it stayed in my heart since then.
βWhen I run after what I think I want,
my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety;
if I sit in my own place of patience,
what I need flows to me, and without pain.
From this I understand that
what I want also wants me,
is looking for me and attracting me.
There is a great secret here
for anyone who can grasp it.β

What do I do?
1)Β Β Aadhe Ghante Me-Time Ki Keemat Tum Kya Jaano Ramesh Babu! (Ref. Bollywood! π)
It can be availed anytime during the 24hrs. Be flexible. If you gotta make breakfast for your Baal Gopala(s), Baala Tripur Sundari(s) and Pati Parmeshwar (hopefully, not plural!), avail it later during the day, may be post-lunch.
If you had a night shift at office and would like to sleep in the morning, please go ahead. You can avail the Me-time just before you hit the shower after waking up.
One of my close friends, an ardent Devi bhakta, works night shift almost the entire year. Concerned about his health and wellbeing, I asked him, βWhy donβt you apply for a day-shift duty?β He smiled and replied, βNah! Iβm good. I leave the office in the wee hours of the morning. Walking through the dark road surrounded by trees gives me the much needed time to spend with Mother Goddess. Donβt you see the beauty of this, Snigdha? Night shift might seem daunting but I get to stay awake in Bramha Muhurt every single day by default. That is Her sheer grace.β
2)Β Β Mujhe Chhod Do Mere Haal Par! (Find this awesome song here!β€οΈ)
The French philosopher, Blaise Pascal, once said something profound.
“All of humanity’s problems stem from man’s inability to sit quietly in a room alone.”
This one is not really a sub-point. It’s more like a tip or say the Rule of the Game. When you avail this Me-time, remember to follow the rules below.
1)Β Me-time should be spend in your own company.
The idea is to develop a bind with your ownself and get connected to the One who resides in the deep recess of your soul.
2) No men allowed. No women allowed either.
Although, dogs are more than welcomeπ Here, the word βdogsβ is inclusive of the entire animal and plant kingdom and water bodies!
Baaki ka agle blog mein!ππ
Bohot saara Jai Shri Hari-Ma!ππ
Aur tokdi bhar-bhar ke pyaar! β€οΈβ€οΈ
