Closest to my heart,
Encasing my soul,
A warmth within is you.
In my deepest recesses,
In my heartfelt pleas,
In my vulnerabilities are you.
My anchor in a turbulent storm,
My sunlight after the darkest night,
My prayers answered, are you.
Realised in the drop of the tear,
In the corner of my eyes,
In the gentle smile,
In the shiver of the spine, is you.
In the closing of my eyes,
In my soul’s music,
In my deepest joy is you.
In my frantic pace, In my slowest stance is you,
In my child-like amusement, in my adult cunningness, is you.
In my plans and failures, in my wins and losses, In my sleep and wakefulness is you.
You are everywhere and yet for the uninitiated you are nowhere.
For me, you come at every beck and call, hold me and guide me, embrace me and chide me.
Teach me and hone me, sometimes let me be alone to fight out.
Even then, in the twinkling of the stars, the humming of the bees, the rustling of the leaves, the beating of this ephemeral heart, is you.
