Guru’s Grace

Please forgive us

For we are unworthy 

In our ignorance 

We trade diamonds for dust. 

Our will is feeble 

We fail to follow Your lead 

In our excuses we conceal our defects 

We try to be wise but fool ourselves. 

We give but not surrender 

We praise but not melt 

We dance but not immerse 

We wonder but do not reflect.

Oh this must be Maya!

The illusory play of Nature

Baffling us, beguiling us

But we have You as our saviour.

It must not be easy being a Guru 

In this world of self-absorbtion 

Indeed You are standing alone 

As the Divine personified. 

You stand tall and strong 

On the foundation of compassion and truth 

We are arrogant fools 

Chipping away at the basis of our own Self. 

Only you can relieve us of our burdens 

So we may get a glimpse of Thy glory 

You bestow Your love in ways 

Unfathomable to our limited selves. 

With Your grace only 

We realise our serendipity with Divinty 

The heaven of a distant dream 

May someday become our reality. 

Hope we truly imbibe Your teachings 

In thoughts, words and actions

In serving You wholeheartedly 

We become a better version of ourselves. 

May You be healthy and happy 

May You be victorious as ever 

May we be worthy of Your grace

May we be grateful to You forever.
