Hiranya Varnaa Harinim….

My pranaam to Master, my pranaam to all the sidhas and my salutations to the lineage whose blessings are there in the path of spirituality and spiritual path. Today is completed the 13 yagyan and we entered to the 14th day of mantra japa.  Master , like every day narrated a beautiful story with full of wisdom,  messages and humor.  Along with performing the yagyan we all heard the story which I would love to share with you again.   In today’s viniyog  there is also mentioned the name of Rishi Medhas who invoked the particular mantra of 13th day. There are stories we did not know and Guru ji enlightened us by telling this very exciting story. 

                 So it happened that Shiva had a separate tribes  with him whom he called  rudra gana.  Somewhere between the fine line Shiva did not like the fact that rakhyasas and yakhyas are ignored. So He went to Vishnu and that.. look we need to do something about it.we have to be more kinder with them. But vishnu did not agree. He replied that these yakhyas and rakhyasas cannot be given more power because they are self centered and savage. They are spendthrift.  I cant do anything about it because if they will be given more power then  they will never balance the situation of anything and it will be destruction.  So Merciful Shiva give them protection and shelter. 

                    Now there was Rishi Vishrava   who was also the son of sage Pulastya. According to scriptures Rishi vishrava  married two times and according to another source he had three wives. One of them was Kaikeshi, the daughter of rakhyas king Sumali and the other was Idavida who was the daughter of Rishi Bharadwaj.From kaikeshi , vishrava fathered Ravana and kumbhakarna. And through Idavida he fathered kubera.

                 Kubera built a vast ,extraordinary beautiful kingdom which was called Lanka. He was extremely kind and was guided by Rishi vishrava.  After reaching at kubera’s palace Ravana was simply awestruck  to see its extravagant beauty and prosperity.  And Ravana was cunning and ruthless mainly motivated and guided by his tamashik instinct. Sage pulastya warned kubera.. look he has ulterior motives so don’t let him stay in lanka for more days. And kubera ,the ideal kind heartedking did not believe and let him stayed. And soon Ravana with his source and crooked mind , acquired the entire Lanka.  He threatened Kubera ..look either you leave or you die in my hand. Kubera regretted, cried and came helplessly to Rishi vishrava. Now he needed a solution. Rishibar gave a cold reply by saying  see dear you both are my sons. And Ravana will not listen. Do you think you can fight with him? And win??? I don’t think so. It is better you do some other business.  Kubera, disheartened by this kind of reply went to sage Pulastya.  Look…you have some connections with the Gods. You can help me get my lanka back to me.Do you think I should pray to vishnu?Pulastya told you have already prayed him  but I don’t think vishnu can give you any solution as he is more concerned with devas.Go to lord shiva. 

              Kubera,  I don’t interfere in relationship issues. Shiva told.Ravana is completely devoted to me. So I cant ignore him also.you want my army. You can have but if ravana will ask for the same I wl have to divide the army. Shiva.. please you don’t need anything  but I do. Plz do something about it. Lord shiva replied, well there is one man who can help you  whom I have given the boon of immorality .Thus kubera finally reached at Rishi Markendaya ‘s hut and pleaded the sage.Markendeya  after listening to the ordeal sent him to Sage Medhas.

    When Rishi Medhas encountered kubera,  he said.. look at you.. you are so ignorant.  Instead of searching here and there you could have prayed to your own ancestor  Pinga who has invoked Mother Goddess  and also who is a yakhya. Pinga already invoked Maa laxmi for which Mother is also called Pingala. That is why the mantra also has Pinga’s name in there.

Kubera did intense tapas of Sri sukta . After which Mother Goddess and Narayan were pleased  and vishnu made him his official treasurer. Kubera made another kingdom which was more glorified than Lanka.

Such are the intense tapasyas, penance and glories of our ancestors.  How big is our Sanaatan dharma and how mesmerizing is our culture and vastness.. Bharat barsh.. the land of munis, yogis,Sikhs and Gods…
