Motivation is the process that establishes, inspire, guides, and maintains goal-oriented behaviors. Motivation involves the biological, emotional, social, logical, and reasonable forces that activate behavior. Motivation is also defined as a factor that turns a good thought into immediate action. Nothing can be achieved in life without motivation.

Everyone should learn Motivation theory i.e the study of understanding what drives a person to work towards a particular goal or its outcome. There are many motivational theories, some of them are :

1. Maslow’s theory of the hierarchy of needs.

2. Alderfer’s ERG theory

3. McClelland’s achievement theory

4. Herzberg’s two-factor motivation theory

5. Reinforcement motivational theory

There are numerous branches of motivation theory but it boils down to two important factors:

1. Extrinsic factors: In this, people are motivated by external factors i.e. bonus and appreciation for hard work or a sanction if targets are not met.

2. Intrinsic factors: In this, people are motivated by a desire to satisfy human needs such as desire to please their boss or to achieve certain professional goals.

Now, I am going to share some tips to Motivate yourself.

How to Motivate Yourself??

1. Just Start :

Famous writer Mark Twain once said: “The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

So, You don’t always need to connect with your emotions or justify why you need to do something. You can deal with those negative feelings later. Instead, try setting all of the negative emotions aside and simply START.

2. Break task Into Small steps:

The famous painter Vincent Van Gogh once said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together”.

It’s the simplest things done that will make the work best. Start your work by taking small steps towards your goal. Write down what you need to do in your life on a piece of paper. Then, penned down every single step that you need to take to make the work happen. Ignore everything else except the steps you’re working on.

3. Create a Positive Mindset:

Getting motivated is almost impossible, if you’re looking at the situation from a negative mindset whereas positivity can be energizing your life and help you to motivate yourself. A positive mind and thoughts lead to a positive life.

4. Be Kind to Yourself:

When you make a mistake, it’s easy to boost yourself up. You may find that sometimes you “speak” to yourself in a mean way. If you notice yourself doing this, pause and try to speak to yourself in a kind manner. Try to remember you’re true inherent value as a human being as you deserve kindness.

5. Be Constructive:

The entrepreneur Arianna Huffington said, “We need to accept that we won’t always make the right decisions, that we’ll screw up royally sometimes – understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success.”

When you realize that you’ve made a mistake or finally bring yourself back from that temporary session, you have a golden opportunity to learn and improve yourself.
If you act on your mistake and what you learn, you’ll transform mistakes into opportunities.

6. Imagine your future if you don’t change:

A motivational quote from a wise person: “You can either experience the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The choice is yours.”

This tip can make you inspiring easily: Instead of focusing on the change you want, imagine the life you’ll have if you don’t stay motivated or change yourself.

7. Eliminate Distractions Mercilessly:

The billionaire investor Warren Buffett once said, “The difference between successful people and very successful people is that very successful people say ‘no’ to almost everything.”

Distractions are the enemy of your focus. If you want to get motivated, you have to eliminate every distraction from your life. So, turn your phone off, close the door, turn the music off and Delete all the distracting apps. Remember that you are not punishing yourself instead you’re just focusing on your goals.

8. Listen to an Upbeat Song:

If you need to motivate yourself quickly, try this super-simple and easy tip: Listen to a song you love that’s inspiring, full of energy and motivation or you can dance like a crazy person at the same time. Then as soon as the song end don’t pause there, Just dive straight into the action. It may become one of your favorite ways to motivate yourself.

9. Follow inspiring people who motivate you:

The ancient Greek philosopher Socrates said, “Smart people learn from everything and everyone, average people from their experiences, stupid people already have all the answers.”

There are so many inspiring people in everyone’s life who can help them to motivate. Is there any entrepreneur, friend, idol, teacher, musician, or politician you find inspiring? You can learn how people you admire or love stay motivated and then you can apply those lessons to your own life.

10. Remember your power and potential:

The author Alice Walker once said, “The most common reason people give up their power is that they think they don’t have any.”

Remember, you are powerful and you have enormous potential. You may not feel it sometimes and you may even feel that I am mere a silly girl for saying it to you but it’s true. So, please take a moment to connect yourself with your inner power. Listen to the quiet voice in your head saying, “You can do this.”
