I was in high school, when a very popular show called ‘I Dream of Genie’ was broadcasted on television. I was very fond of this show, watched it everyday and was quite mesmerized by the way genie got all the work done with a blink of eye. I’ll call it a work of an innocent mind, I started praying to GOD to grant me that power of getting my work done, and to fulfill all my wishes just by the blink of eyes. I laugh at this thought now, but at that time, I felt I can also get a supernatural power…that childish mind!
Of course this is not possible at all but today when I contemplate and look back at the life I have lived, it seems that I created my life. It might be an intuition or the gut feeling that we call it, but I feel that somewhere I thought about those things or attracted those incidents in my life. It is as if Life said: “This is what you wanted.” Although this is an anecdote of my life and things happening with a blink of eyes isn’t possible, but many books have been written on one’s thought process and subconscious mind. Here a question arises, can a life be created only by thinking and doing nothing? Certainly not…One has to work diligently towards creating that life. Out of seven spiritual laws of success mentioned by the prominent author Mr. Deepak Chopra, The Law of Intention and Desire, is one of the laws. According to this law;
“Inherent in every intention and desire is the mechanics for its fulfillment . . . intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite organizing power. And when we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us.”
We can have many desires but those desires cannot take shape until we work towards fulfilling those desires. After we have worked assiduously towards fulfillment of our desire, we can completely surrender and then our thoughts/desire will become reality. However, one thing that needs to be taken care of is, ‘when things don’t seem to be going your way, trust that there is a purpose for it.’
