The book ‘Meditation and Spiritual Life’ was written by Swami Yatiswarananda. He was initiated by Swami Brahmananada, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, also known as Ramakrishna’s spiritual son. Swami Brahmananda gave him initiation and also enough time to do sadhana for him to uphold and spread the works of Sri Ramakrishna. He went abroad during World War and gave lectures and Vedanta classes for Westerners. This book is his masterpiece which he wrote for monks as well as for householders. It’s an extensive and exhaustive work of why & how to lead a spiritual life.

This book is a boon for Sadhakas as well as for spiritual seekers. I bought this book 2 decades ago. The one page that I super liked in the whole book is the pictorial illustration of the relationship between humans and the Divine. He has in his own style expressed through diagrams how the humans are indeed divine except for the reference point called EGO. It’s beautiful. The book is available on Amazon. The depiction is from chapter 31, Topic – Spiritual unfoldment, page – 543. Fourth edition, published by Ramakrishna Math, Bangalore. I hope os.meians will find it enlightening.
