In the Lap of Divine

Sometimes, when I am not absorbed in thoughts of divine, the fleeting thoughts of going against the usual tide of the world props up in my mind. As soon as I recognize that, I take shelter in divine asking him to take my mind off these worldly thoughts and fill my thoughts with his thoughts . After meticulously studying upanishads for last five years, my subtle intellect has finally grasped the essence  of the supreme that is existence-consciousness-bliss but it is extremely difficult for me to abide just in that supreme awareness. On the other hand, the beautiful form of supreme in the form of Lord Krishna is so attractive and enchanting that it becomes effortless to abide in him. 

O ‘Lord, although I know you are beyond any name and form and beyond the realm of mind and intellect, I pray to you to make my heart your abode in the form of beautiful lord with flute so that my thoughts are always immersed in you even in the midst of friends, family and all worldly activities.

English Translation of Hindi Lyrics:

When the supreme who is the lord and essence of all,

is also the cause of my individual existence;

Then, O’ foolish mind, why do you worry so much?

Let the world gather whatever is shiny and glittery here,

O ‘ mind, you develop an eternal bond with him alone;

The destiny of this body is same for all,

It will one day turn into ashes;

Then why to worry to keep this body together,

Let my thoughts be absorbed in your divine leelas;

O ‘ Krishna , do not run away and leave the realm of mind,

My love is not ripe enough to hold you forever,

Have grace upon me and come on your own,

Out of your compassionate love;

When the supreme who is the lord and essence of all,

is also the cause of my individual existence;

Then, O’ foolish mind, why do you worry so much?

As long as I see the creation,

I understand that my instrument of working is limited,

and You wield the power of entire creation;

But in the deep absorption of divine love,

When there is only Love, this distinction fades away

And I do not see any difference.

I see you alone as my substratum ,

and You as an essence in me,

Are we two? Are we different?

Are we One?

 Where is the world of impressions in those moments?

I do not know my Lord… I do not know…
