Ananta koti Dandavat at your Lotus Feet dearest Swamiji. Love ya and your fiery Blogs. Last two blogs were outstandingly bestest (I know it is grammatically incorrect, but I don’t find another word!) among the best. If the last but one blog was highly motivating with exemplary vocabulary usage (top class learning material), the last blog was a deathly blow against EGO (Eccentric Guy’s own Obstacle). We are really fortunate to get imparted with such wisdom from cosmic source through our Swamiji. Swamiji please accept the honour bestowed on me today by Department of Atomic Energy. (You know what I mean, and sorry folks, this is between me and my Swamiji!)
First of all, sorry to all my readers. Due to lot of office work in absence of Manish (my talented colleague) I am not able to write regularly. I have a lot of topics to write, but.. Anyway, today I want to shed light on the concept of various Pujas in In Sanatan Dharma or Hindu Dharma. Mind you, I have almost nil knowledge of our Vedic scriptures ☹. So, apologies in advance.
The thought came to my mind during our last trip to Bhubaneswar. As a Brahmin, returning to home after almost nine months, I wanted to change my Janeyu to a new one. I was provided with a Janeyu which was already avimantrit (I think all the requisite software were loaded to the Janeyu thread hardware). Hey, after changing the Janeyu, I did not become a full-fledged Pundit! I started my lunch with Odia Style Mutton Curry 😉.
Jokes apart, I was instructed to tear the old Janeyu after wearing the new one and offer a glass of water in a copper glass to the Sun God. I have done this ritual many times before. But this time, I was a bit spiritual (not spirit + ritual 😉). I just remembered that in our Astro Physics Paper, we were taught that Sun is just an ordinary star like million others. Then what is the significance of worshipping Sun as God? A scientific mind asked the question to a spiritual mind.
Then the spiritual mind asked the scientific mind to provide evidence and guided the scientific mind. The scientific mind came out with this answer. Yes, Sun is the Source of all possible energy source on earth. You name it, I will establish the link. All fossil fuel (including LPG) were the result of constant pressure and heat energy of Sun, wind energy is indirectly related to Sun’s influence, all the elements we have in the Periodic Table were once synthesized in Sun as part of Fusion Reaction which provide chemical energy for all types of batteries and also source of atomic energy, the tidal waves (or energy derived from water) source of energy is because of Sun’s Gravitational effect, Solar energy is directly harnessed from Sun. This manifestation is just baffling.
Now let us discuss about energy sources of living objects. Green-leafed plants can carry out the photosynthesis process using water, carbon dioxide, nutrients of soil in presence of Sunlight. Without Sun rays, this process is not possible. The food chain starts from here. All aquatic and terrestrial herbivorous fauna get energy by eating these primary producer floras. Carnivores get their energy by eating these herbivores. Omnivores like us fulfil our energy requirement by eating these plant products and Pandits like me enjoy some meals prepared by using the meat of some herbivores 😉.
As you all can realize the significance of all the abiotic and biotic components involved in sustaining the process called life, you can understand how precious they are. Scientists always study the world bee population which is a key index for sustenance of balance in the food chain of a biome or living zone. (All the biological jargon credit goes to Sahil’s Science Text Book as you all know I am very poor in Biology and Chemistry 😉except for Swamiji’s Grace and Love Chemistry 😊).
Bees play a major role in carrying the pollen grains from male flowers to female flowers and in some cases vice versa also. This ensures pollination, fertilization and production of fruits, food grains etc. If there is a dip in this index, then it is an alarm that food crop production in the area will dip and there is an impending danger on the Food Chain in the area.
Not only bees, but also birds and animals, flowing wind and water also expedite the process of pollination. Were the ancient Munis and Rishis had this entire knowledge? I think so. That is why, they wisely included puja of soil (Vasudhya Mata), wind (Pavan Dev), water (Varun Dev), Akash (Gagan Dev), Sun (Surya Dev), all type of flora (Vanaspati) and fauna (animals and birds) for less knowledgeable people like me to do some rituals un knowingly recognizing its importance. (This is just like Swamiji having thorough knowledge of the rituals and guiding us to perform as per our capacity with little knowledge, but reaping the full benefits of the power of the rituals).
Hence, it is high time that we the tech-savvy people (so called supreme creation of the Almighty) should live up to the expectation of the creator by giving the due dignity to all the above-mentioned life sustaining elements as they are no less than God. It’s time to co-exist and not establish our foolish supremacy leading to destruction of our own and all others. Let’s be grateful and offer Gratitude. Great Scientists like Schrodinger, Fermi, Oppenheimer and many other big guns (who were experimenting the detonation of Atomic Bomb, code named the Manhattan Project) used to read The Bhagwat Gita during the experiments to fight with their anxiety. Some of them have explicitly written about the ‘Vishwa Roopa Darshan’ in the un-imaginable magnitude of energy released in detonation of the atomic bombs.
So, Scientists at highest level do believe in a supreme power and spirituality. The common belief that, Science and Spirituality are exactly opposite, is not true. To be precise, at the highest level of intelligence, both of these converge in fact.
Lagta hai ki bahut jyaada paka diya SQL programmers ko, Start-up think tanks, all my beloved bacha parties 😉. So let me pause here. Thank you everyone for patiently reading the blog. Jai Shri Hari…
And HAPPY 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY “AAZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” Jai Hind…
