Om namah Shivay

This blog starts with my visit to the old capital of bengal province-Murshidabad. The story starts with reign of Mughal empire under which whole india was under control. It was during the reign of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, current Dacca was capital of Bengal province. But When Murshid ali khan became the governor of Bengal province, he shifted the capital from current Dacca to Murshidabad which is situated near Bhagirathi river. When i visited the place , it reminded me the old glimpse of mughal empire of that time. Really one cannot imagine how the emperor and kings of those time lived their life so lavishly. Their show of wealth was sign of their power. They never hesitated in displaying their enormous wealth they had during those times. Here are some of pictures showing the glory of those days.

This is main entrance of Hazarduari Place which means a palace with thousand gates in which some of these are false gate while remaining 900 gates are actually working gates and below picture gives the information about the palace and also full view of the palace.

Murshidabad was once a place of historical value just like london during British era. But with arrival of Britishers, it losts it importance. Today only remains are left from which one can view the glory of the past. Really my visit to this place was really valuable and i enjoyed it to the fullest extent. Hope you all enjoyed with me. Till then keep writing and enjoy life.
