Note: This is an episode that a dear friend narrated to me. The episode had a great impact on me. People have treated me in the past as Adil must have gone through. The fake masks that everyone seems to be wearing..

It is believed that the greatest healer is Time and the greatest teacher is Life itself. Both the Healer and the Teacher have been instrumental in teaching me numerous life lessons, from which I can never depart.

You must know by now how much I adore flashbacks. It goes back to his college days..

As we embark on secondary education after the rat race competition that we all had faced at Junior level, we are faced with the impossible choices of striking frindship with certain types of people. The company we keep, at least for visual appearances seem to have great impact on the way society view us.

Our conduct is most definitely the result of our Samskars and most importantly the norms of the society. It is instilled into us that we are never satisfied with things within our reach, but we have the thirst for acquiring the very best or buy only the best. Our status symbol rests upon how branded the outfits and accessories we wear, the restaurants we go to eat or the places we visit, the size of our houses or simply the car we drive. It is undeniable that society measures the status of someone based on these variables.

Ironically our status is also based on people we befriend and the possible benefits we might derive from our circles. Embarking on the sophomore journey, we are made to believe that befriending those with the best results will keep the competition ongoing and there are less chances to lose interest in studies as these students will always be in the good books of teachers.

Held in bondage by hundreds of desires, and driven by lust and anger, they strive to accumulate wealth by unjust means, all for the gratification of their senses.
