In the morning, I was listening nonchalantly to the news on the radio. It was announced that during the summer school vacations, the institution responsible for organising various activities will be going online this year. I let that sink for a moment, ‘online activities’ for the children, youths and teenagers! What do you think will be the stress levels and health of these youths who will remain glued to their screens?
I remember mocking and dismissing the META Facebook project* that dominates the social media space as the most ridiculous implementation of a C-Grade sci-fi movie. I also saw a YouTube video advocating the urgent purchase of virtual plots and properties on the Metaverse. The prices of these plots are going to skyrocket soon.
Cryptocurrency is already a big name that has monopolised the news in the financial arena. Should we be surprised? Well no, we have been increasingly using debit and credit cards for most of our purchases. The money is here, but not physically in our hands. Are we taking Cryptocurrency seriously? I am a layman, small job, small earning and in a world of expensive basic needs, I can manage only very small savings. I would spend my life’s income on a house and basic needs. When the virtual world will capture and monopolise the world, how will the laymen fare? What do you think will happen when money is online? Those who have been to China might understand. Please share your experiences.
However, this concept of Metaverse will work for me if, by the grace of Swami Ji, He wills a spiritual garden, where all of us will connect around the world, meditating with our Guru Ji. He is guiding us now and then, accepting virtual appointments to meet His shagirs. Grace us with His presence despite the separation of these vast oceans. A connected universe of our Swami Ji.

*Facebook Meta Project: The metaverse will feel like a hybrid of today’s online social experiences, sometimes expanded into three dimensions or projected into the physical world. It will let you share immersive experiences with other people even when you can’t be together — and do things together you couldn’t do in the physical world. (Extract from the Facebook website).
