This is about a mysterious meditative experience, a state I have often experienced. However, I don’t know what it is, it’s something but I don’t know how to describe it. Let me talk of a few incidents of that state :
- I was in 10th Standard (session 2017-2018). I remember that day it was a free period. I was sitting in second row, on right side, probably on 3rd or 4th bench. I closed my eyes for I wanted to meditate. Those days I didn’t knew much details about meditation and mind. All I knew was, close eyes and move according to my instincts. So, I closed my eyes. After sometime, I got absorbed in that darkness, something in me and later opened my eyes. There was noise all around but for few moments, I was lost somewhere, I don’t know where.
- Probably in 2019 I read a plain Sanskrit translation of Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. One sutra said something like, feel your body as completely empty as if there is emptiness under the wall of skin. I gave it a try and I was again lost for a few moments and then I opened my eyes.
- A few months ago, after meditating, I lied down on my asana, hands on my chest and closed my eyes, few moments passed and I was lost.
- Today, I again lied down and again I was lost. I consciously closed my eyes and consciously opened them, but for a few moments, I was lost. My mother played some YouTube video and I was back on planet earth.
Sounds simple? But what I feel is mysterious. It is silent state, dark, unknown and strange. But it is constant, eternal. It is beyond time. The quality of that state is unstained by passage of time. That silence which I experienced some 5-6 years ago, and even before I feel, is exactly same even today. There’s no difference between what I experienced years ago and what I experienced today. After just a few moments of that state, I feel much more fresh than a 8-hour long night’s sleep. It is as if my mind is completely rebooted. Everything is as if wiped out. It feels a mini rebirth. Sense of time is lost for some time. And when I come back, it takes me a few moments to adjust myself to the surroundings and get in my senses once again.
I have read about something similar but I don’t know what it is exactly. However, it’s strange, mysterious and powerful.
