Jai Jai Maa!
Jai Shri Radhey Shyam!
I offer my obeisance to the divine in you.
In my last post I mentioned about Maa Tara and I asked you more about her. I got some knowledge about her form and you all requested me to write a post if I got to know about her.
So, here I’m writing about her whatever I know.
When my brother said, even Shiva wants her love as a mother, he wants Maa to breast fed him. I was shocked.. How?
Maa is Mahadev’s spouse, how she can do this?
Then I remember the story of Mata Anusuya
I hope you know her story if not then let me know I’ll share in other post, I don’t want to make this post a longer one.
The story goes as follows;
During Samudra Manthan (Churning of the sea) by Devas and Asuras. Halahal vish (Great poison) was produced.
Neither the Devas, nor the asuras were adequately fit to process it. It was Lord Shiva who drank it and held it in his throat to serve the creatures across the Universe. From this time forward, he came to be known as Nilakantha (one with blue cloured throat).
In scriptures it was mentioned, Parvati as Tara, breastfed Shiva, to lessen his aggravation because of toxin in his throat.
It should be noticed that Tara is one of the Ten Mahavidyas, who are revered for Tantrik siddhis. She is also called NEEL SARASWATI.
Tara shows up in both Hinduism and Buddhism. Portrayals are unique, yet a similar mantra is recited by the two Hindus and Buddhists.
“The beginning of the goddess Tara is recorded in the tantrik content Tara Rahasya. The legend starts with the agitating of the sea between the Devas and Asuras. Great Yogi Shiva drank the toxin (Halahal) that was made from the agitating of the sea (in the process turning his throat blue and procuring him the sobriquet Nilakantha), hence saving the world from obliteration, yet fell oblivious under its incredible impact. Maa Parvati showed up as Maa Tara and took Shiva on her lap. She suckled him, the milk from her bosoms balancing the toxin, and he recuperated.”
Why this all happened?
I remember one of our very own Swami’s discourse in which a great soul asked him:Why we are here?
Swami answered: Because at some time in pastyou wished to be here…. Swami completed by saying that whatever wish we make in this universe it’ll come true one day no matter how long it’ll take.
So I think Shiva wished to be Maa’s child toΒ drink this nectar of Mother-child bond… That’s why Maa took this form.
Here’s is the picture of Maa Tara feeding Shiva :
Here is another rare picture which I saw yesterday on Instagram:
