Why is it so special when a dog is part of your Life?
We humans talk so much about spirituality, love and compassion. We are constantly reassuring ourselves that we are all this and more. We strongly believe it. We have Gurus and Mystics to flaunt as well to make the world also believe in
our new found status.
Our furry friend does not have to talk about it. It is unable to do so. It does not have to reassure itself.
Its in their DNA.
The unconditional love that emanates from it, without any effort, is so pure and sublime that it overwhelms the reciever. It knows that there is nobody else in the world for him and the master or mistress is his world.
Have you ever seen a dog going ballistic when the master comes back home after work or after a out of town trip. You should see it to believe it. Its simply pure love…….. we seldom respond at all when our spouse returns home !
When we humans get shouted at or scolded we sulk for a day or two. However the four legged marvel comes to you, wagging his tail or looking sheepish, even after getting a beating with hand or words.
Dogs are almost monk like in many ways, therefore spiritual.
They are the biggest stress busters that one can possibly experience in life. They are never stress creators.
When one is not keeping well, they sense it very quickly and will come and sit or lie beside the bed. Their compassionate energy and soulful eyes will make one feel better. Its almost therepatic. It tells a story of love and compassion.
I feel very distressed and dismayed, like many dog lovers, when social media and many dog haters talk about elimination of strays in communities and colonies. These creatures have every right to live as much as humans do. We can only hope and pray that the government and the Animal Health department embrace their responsibility to make the situation tenable for these helpless souls.
Man’s best friends deserve more than a compassionate hearing. Lets offer it to them.
Unconditionally. With Love.
