Meditation – an inner voyage💫
Meditation is a journey not a destination. It’s a long treaded path, a voyage… So friends, let’s contemplate on this them in this post!☺️
The Hindi translation in Indian philosophy for the word Meditation is Yog which comes from the word yuj meaning To Unite. So something which is in a divided or separated state experiences a union and state of completion through treading on the path of Yog. Yog is different from the word Yoga, the latter being a small portion of the former. According to Sage Patanjali, there are 8 limbs to be followed before one reaches the Samadhi or the state of Union with Divine which is the goal of meditation. So let me share the 8 steps :
# Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratayahara,Dhyaan, Dharana, Samadhi.
So amidst these 8 steps, Yoga commonly practices as Hath yoga or in the form of exercises and postures comes under the category of Asana. So its different from the word Yog which signifies a higher state of union with Divine. In this state, one experiences a dissolution of sense of self and oneness with the Divine/Ishta/Brahman. The subject object duality subsides and the seeker becomes one with Him. So now let’s see how to go about it :-
Practice shall take us a long way in this path. Practice, Practice and Practice. This is the primary reason for success of any seeker. 🤝
The secondary reason is Utmost faith in oneself and Divine. Many challenges comes in inner journey too like in everything but we need to tread on this path with patience, self love and faith.🕉️
So friends, keep reading, in next posts we shall discuss more on meditation! Namaskar! 🌸🙋
