Kaala Sarpa Dosha

Kaala Sarpa Dosha or Yoga is a Kundali Dosha in the horoscope. Vedic astrology holds that Kaala Sarpa Yoga is usually a result of one’s past actions or karma. For instance, it occurs if a person has caused harm to an animal/snake either in their present or past life. This Dosha may also occur if the person’s deceased ancestors are displeased with them for any reason.

When all the planets (Grahas) get sandwiched between the lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu, in a person’s horoscope, Kala Sarpa Dosha forms in their natal chart. If all the seven planets are found between Rahu and Ketu, the dosha will be strong. If at least one planet is found outside, it may not be intense. There are twelve types of this yoga, and they are – Ananta, Kulika, Vasuki, Shankhapala, Padma, Mahapadma, Takshaka, Karkotaka, Shankhachur, Ghatak, Vishdhar and Shesh Naag.

Symptoms of Kaala Sarpa Dosha

A person who has Kaala Sarpa Yoga in his Kundali often has dreams about snakes. In their dreams, they will be bitten by snakes, or they feel that they are being strangled or that a snake is coiled around their body. They can also see dead relatives or corpses in their dreams. They may also dream of water bodies and their own house. They may have acrophobia (fear of high places) and also a fear of lonely places.

Those born with this Dosha are usually devoted to family and society. They are nurturing, altruistic, and gregarious, as per Vedic astrology. They are not known to be greedy and self-centered. They face struggles in life and suffer from a feeling of loneliness. It is said that those who have this Yoga will be born again as their desires will be unfulfilled in their current life.
