Muklawa

Traditions in differ in different places all around the globe. Some tradition are still followed and some lost their charm. But in changing time the tradition must change so as to keep pace with changing times. One such tradition that make me feel and wonder is this really needed in our society. I came across a tradition of muklawa  while watching a punjabi movie Muklawa.

Where couple once married is not allowed to live together. Since it is a culture that bride has to live in his parental after marriage for some time may be year or so. So, it was not allowed for the room to even see his bride even married to her. 

In this movie same thing was portrayed and shows the plight of the groom who was married but still can’t meet his wife. He makes so many efforts in desperation to meet his wife and attempt to flout the culture. So, I believe that may the culture perhaps be good in the olden times during colonialism but now it go away. As with new era, things have changed, minds have changed and life has taken all together a different shape. So we should get rid of tradition, culture and practices that do not uplift and bring beautiful changes in our life.
