This week’s editorial on osdotme is by Nikunj ji, under the mentorship of Medhashri ji. Please give it a read, and if you have already, then a re-read. Its worth it. 😊
Nikunj ji has encouraged us to create our vision boards for 2023. More powerful is her sharing of her own individual vision of how she sees herself after a year, on 1.1.2024 – chewing her every piece of food 32 times in January, drinking 12 glass water in February, doing surya namaskar, skipping rope for 15 minutes, no screen during eating meals, no gadget one hour before sleep and so on. Day after day, every day.
One new habit every month.
What a bold vision board she has created for herself!!!! 💪💪💪💪💪
Now, coming to myself, I don’t have even a single of above habits. In fact, never had the dare to follow discipline in daily living. But yes, I have tried each one of the above habits every now and then, but never in a consistent way. The intention to be disciplined and the courage to make them a permanent life style never happened.
Even, today, at a ripe age of 56, under the pressure of my habitual life style, am NOT at all confident enough to even think of so much of transformation in one year.
Hence, to begin with, taking baby steps, (not for me😊), I come forward with a long cherished desire of following Ekadashi in a special way. Its a very significant date, every fortnight, in lunar calendar from so many angles.
Going by sanatan dharma, Ekadashi holds very high religious significance.
Goin by scientific view, the day deserves a lot of attention and special living style. Google is full with religious kathas attached to ekadashi. The scientific aspect can also be read on Google. A Japanese scientist received a very high AWARD, (perhaps a Noble Prize) for his related research, knowledge which is already a part of our Sanatan Dharma since ions.
So my one and only promise to myself that I can share here is to observe Ekadashi day as a significant day. Till now its like any other ordinary day for me. No more from now onwards. 🙏🏼
Let’s see how it goes and on what parameters I get along successfully. There are many aspects of it, like –
moderation in food intake;
undertaking special Sadhna;
observing fast;
and much more.
Just twice a month, just one day in a fortnight I need to be disciplined. For rest of 28 days I am a free bird/awara jaanvar . Yes, this is my harsh truth, friends.
As always, YOUR help in the form of motivation is solicited. 🙇🏼♀️🙇🏼♀️🙇🏼♀️🙇🏼♀️
