Prelude:
The spiritual journey demands that we unburden ourselves completely. That we drop every falsity that we may have gathered. That we become free from all the encumbrance of life. For that, we must travel light, holding nothing, carrying no past. After all, we are nothing but our past memories and experiences. To be on the spiritual path means to walk as just life. Like we’re completely empty. This is an abandonment! But, in absolute abandonment, is the Truth!
This poem illustrates this point.
🍁 O, Traveller
O Traveller,
If you long to be at peace,
Die to everything you hold in your heart—
To all the hurts, all the grudges
All the pains
All the past.
Your Soul
Is weighed down now;
—Who knows since how long!
Shake off! Unload!
Keep the baggage down.
Learn to drop! O Traveller,
Learn to be light!
Carry nothing—if you wish to be at peace;
Travel light—if you wish to go far!
