The universe works in mysterious ways. It places each of us in situations where we either succumb/surrender or overcome and realise why they were necessary.

The very first situation is when we are born, we are reared, fed and conditioned by our parents and our environment. We become attached to our parents and invariably to our mother for survival and sustenance. This is our family, our security.

The second situation is when we discover ourselves. We experience self-love and become obsessed with our mirror image. This is not self-realisation. It’s called existence. We proclaim to the world that we exist.

The third situation is when we fall in love with the other or we are expected to fall in love with the other. It is necessary for validation, appreciation, and acceptance among other things.

The fourth situation is when we understand that in order to continue with this precious existence of ours we need to work. Independently or in a team depends on how we are conditioned.

The fifth situation is when we become comfortable and enjoy the comforts and conveniences that our work has brought us and we enter the comfort zone. We get married and have children due to the longing of the self or of others. We feel set.

The sixth situation is when the universe asks us to let go. We were not conditioned to do so. We feel out of sync and don’t accept it. We would like to enjoy immortality.

Our attachments become the cause of our pain, our sorrow, our inability to grow up and accept change.

We are enslaved by our attachments and are in bondage. How and when will we ever be free?
