Parenting – at Its Best!

I don’t know. I seriously don’t know. Therefore I am here to seek the opinion of members of this unique group.

Here is a real life story.

A middle class family set up. Mom, dad, and their only young  son, around 20, who was born after a lot of prayers.  A teen aged, around 15-16 helper girl staying with them in a 3 bhk with small room for servant as well.

One early morning, the news spreads that the maid has committed suicide.

Police is on its job.

So are parents of the boy.

First the boy and his father are taken into custody.  And after a week or so, the boy is out. Instead, the mother and father both are now in jail.

Some money exchanges hands.

The word of mouth is that parents have given a statement that due to ill treatment on their part, the maid servant took this extreme step. Hence they are the culprit. Their young ❤ son has got nothing to do with this.

The story under the carpet is different, though.

After about 6-7 months in jail, the parents are also out.  The case may go on for few years, if any.

The young boy is now doing a job, preparing for a higher degree from Canada and would soon fly off.

Parents have done their best for their only son. His future is now well protected. They also are living a normal social life. The case is either subjudice or closed – not sure on this. 

My personal thoughts are very different. My emotions are very different. Right, wrong – I don’t know. That’s the reason why am discussing this case with you all.

What would I do, as a parent, in such a grave situation????

What would you do??

Was the decision right on part of the parents in this case??

Even if we choose not to answer the above questions, the biggest delimma in my mind is –

IS IT SOCIALLY, MORALLY OKAY TO SET SUCH PARENTING EXAMPLE OF PROTECTING THE FUTURE OF A YOUNG BOY. 

On one hand I feel the sacrifice of parents is a positive approach. On the other hand, it looks like a bad parenting example to cover up such a serious wrong doing of your child. 

This delimma, this confusion, keeps haunting me . What should be my approach if ever I have to face an emotional situation where morals are at stake? 

As spirituality prepares us to face death, illness, pain, misfortune etc. same way your opinion may help me clear my confusions .

Do share your perspective please. Are morals important?  Or a well protected materialistic life?

Honestly speaking, I don’t know what would be my take when other’s lives are also at stake. One can take a decision for self more easily, but when multiple lives are involved, its a confused state.
