Hare Krishna!

Do we know it? The Reality? Or everything just unreal – Maya – not there? Whatever we see, feel, touch, hear – perceive by our (limited) senses – is it All? There is a place where all things begin, the place of pure energy that simply “is”. Everything has come out of it, everything is part of it and everything is that. Upanishads call It ‘Brahman’. Sages call that Source, Spirit, Whole, Existence, All! We are all part of it.

From where does this Maya come? From our mind? Conditioning, may be! None can know unless enlightenment happens. Ziad Masri explores, for mortals like us, the Truth in his book – “Reality Unveiled”. Ziad Masri is an author and entrepreneur who has taken the road less traveled. Driven early in life by the seemingly conflicting desires of worldly success and deep spiritual fulfillment, he set out on a 15-year journey of self-discovery.

The book is divided into 2 parts:

  1. Lifting the veil
  2. Awakening

The Introduction itself is titled – “What you seek is seeking You”.

Some excerpts from the book:

  1. At least 96% of “reality” is simply invisible to us. We perceive so little and yet think this is all there is. (11)
  2. What if everything is living, in that everything is made up of the consciousness of the Creator? And by direct implication, what if everything is aware? (41)
  3. Everything is mental; everything is aware; everything is spiritual at the fundamental level. (41)
  4. Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form. – Rumi. (49)
  5. Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. – Rumi. (99)
  6. Evil [and virtue] is ultimately an illusion because it is spawned by nothing but separation consciousness, which is itself illusory, as the reality is that there is no separation. (109)

Look at point 6. It has a parallel with several shlokas from The Bhagwad Geeta. Lord Krishna had incessantly asked Arjun to get over the dualities of life. After getting over the dualities, one is settled in yoga! In fact Lord is asking him (us) to look beyond the illusion of separateness.

योगस्थ: कुरु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा धनञ्जय |
सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्यो: समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते || 48||

Meaning – Be steadfast in the performance of your duty, O Arjun, abandoning attachment to success and failure. Such equanimity is called Yoga.

In almost 200 pages and 10 chapters, the author has covered various topics including – misleading perception, expected and actual observations of double slit experiments, immateriality of material world, path of the soul, aliens, quantum physics, past life, pyramids etc. The author has connected lots of dots to demonstrate what the Reality Is?
