Imagine we stopped our car near a small teashop after a long drive for a cup of cutting chai and relaxation. The waiter came with the tea and kept it on your table with a bang without any expression.
What would you want to say at that moment?
‘’Thoda Pyar se de do yaar ‘’
You gave instructions to the maid to get the lunch ready before the guests arrived and rushed off from the scene.
The maid must be thinking,
‘’ Can’t she speak with a little love ?’’
You are sitting at the clinic for the vaccination dose.
The sister came with the syringe filled and ready.
You closed your eyes and send out a silent prayer,
‘’ Sister Dheere Se, pyar se’’
We all want the magic of love in every situation. We expect love to be delivered. be it at home, on the road, or at work.
But where is the love gone?
Love is more in demand than anything else. We exhaust it very fast. When we don’t get it, we are flooded with negative emotions. Anger, jealousy, depression. We need to remember, others are also exhausted. We must replenish our daily dose of Love for our own sanity and also for our loved ones.
How can we get a refill of love?
We are conditioned to look to others for replenishing our love. We forget others are also exhausted.
We must nourish Self-love. That is the only way to remain happy.
I have given some self-love reminders in my blog ‘here ‘
Here are some more reminders:
1. BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOURSELF
Don’t be intimidated by your limitations. Accept it.
I browse social media and find there are all kinds of people. The shapely ones and plump ones, talented chefs and simple homemakers, young and old. They are all out there with confidence. No one actually cares. So don’t worry about anything, be yourself and show up.
Be proud you are an original. Remember these are people who get maximum following and likes.
“In a world led with a herd mentality,
it takes immense courage, resolve and sacrifice
to maintain the purity of your form.
You have to be at peace with being misunderstood.
You have to be at peace with walking alone.
You have to be at peace with being judged.
In the end just remember,
“If the world is an array of art,
You are the Masterpiece”
― Henna Sohail
2. SELF-LOVEOVE SUNDAY
Take a day off.
Contemplate on a question, for example,
What is my gift?
3. GIVE YOURSELF THE RIGHT COMPANY
Today I am reading the book ‘’ The Greatest Salesman In The world ‘’ Og Mandino.
Og Mandino found success with this masterpiece which sold 50 million copies.
Isn’t he a great company to be with?
I am making the best use of his company by imbibing his wisdom, like the author himself said ‘’ a sip of wine is like drinking the wisdom of a thousand grapes ‘’
Choose people who do their work with great Love. They can boost your self-esteem and self-love too.
4. MEDITATE.
Meditate and spend time with yourself.
PS:
I am also struggling to put these self-love tips into practice.
Let us share and progress together. One step at a time
It is those who concentrate on but one thing at a time who advance in this world. The great man or woman is the one who never steps outside his or her specialty or foolishly dissipates his or her individuality.
