Sometimes I ask a question why we continue to live.  I mean life is full of pain and suffering yet most of us do not think of ending it. Is it because of the unknown frightening darkness that death brings with it or is it hope that I may still find some shangri la. I don’t want to paint a dark and gloomy picture of life. But the truth is that human being as a race are very complicated creatures. It is very difficult to make us happy, and even more difficult to keep us happy continuously. It seems it is encoded in human nature to be unsatisfied. We may have so much in life but still we will keep on complaining for what we don’t have. This trait is the reason for so much material progress we have made. All the comforts we have today are because someone was not satisfied and wanted something more. Probably it is good to be unsatisfied so that we can move to something better in our life but it is not good to remain unhappy. Wisdom lies in differentiating between being unsatisfied and being unhappy.
