Running in denial
A fruit
too heavy to cling
to the branch of life
must fall and merge
eternally with soilHow gracefully you call
a difficult fruit
to your heartThen why not I
too heavy to carry on
with the austerities
of human lifeAm I not worthy
though weak and fragile
to be with you forever
in your heavenly skyFar far away
from the misunderstood pain
of the world
a suffering race
running in denial.
