You stand so quiet
so still so silent
a stark contrast
to my rushed glances.
A river crossed
and a mile’s walk
to find You
in the lap of mountains tall.
The soul felt Your presence
in every brick every branch
without seeing You
I saw You in my heart.
And yet, the first step forward
into the sanctum
and You were lost
to a million inconsequential thoughts.
The love I carried in my heart
the river couldn’t soak it
the Sun couldn’t dry it
it fizzled away in the heart of a crowd.
Now when the night has descended
and the quiet is loud
O my darling Lord
I’ve come to find You.
What a waste of a life
to unsee You
why the eyes don’t well
at the thought of You.
It bothers me
it pains me
that I’ve somehow forgotten You
when I needed to remember You the most.
Maybe tomorrow when I renew
our acquaintance
I’ll see my old self
smiling at You.
Never have I ever needed so much
for someone to know
what they mean to me
every moment I breathe.
You O loving Bhagwan
my beloved Mother
are this beggars
only treasure.
Please forgive me
for moving in the world
so shamelessly
like a sleeping dog lies unaware.
I come to you now
hands folded and head bowed
my beautiful silent and majestic Bhagwan.
Now I see
It’s safe now
in your abode
the heart is all joy
the mind is reborn.
