A Zen poem and gist of the book ‘Buddha in blue jeans’.

Mind is a room

As big as the sky

The thoughts are the clouds

That float through this sky

When you get distracted by the clouds

Come back and center yourself

Focus on your breath

Connect with it

And the best way to learn this

Is by sitting quietly

Pain is natural

So, decrease the complaining

Everybody has pain

So, decrease the self-centeredness

Accept your feelings and

Care for your body

Give space to your thoughts

Watch them come and go

And the best way to learn this

Is by sitting quietly

Be authentic. Be genuine. Be real.

Enjoy being yourself

Live in the Now

For past is gone and

Future is a wish

Love everyone

And listen to them

For listening is kindness

And the best way to learn this

Is by sitting quietly

Every experience is fresh

Enjoy the wonder

Live gratefully and

Try to do no harm

Bring happiness and

Benefit all life

May all beings be happy, peaceful and one

Such should be the wish for the world

And the best way to learn this

Is by sitting quietly
