Sorry is a sorry word
often it fails to set the heart free
of the many burdens it carries
like a dish ill-salted
it leaves a peculiar taste

But when I fill my heart with gratitude
for your numerous kindness in a day
a startling surge of peace arises
it’s the beginning of a smile
in a heart heavy with silliness

Oh what joy it is to discover
Your love all over again
in the dark softeness of your face
those curling lips
lies my true happiness

In elegant drapes of striking colours
wound around your long arms
I feel the yearning of a child
wanting to be lost
in the sari of her Mother’s fold

To that perfect face
of those gentle eyes
alight with laughter
I lose my heart
the heaviness of today
the cares of yesterday

O my loving Father
And darling Mother
I’m sorry
in search of a place in the world
I look away from You…that’s sorry indeed

Maybe sometimes to really find You
I must first lose myself
to my long lost fears and worries
for who can be my saviour
but You

Please forgive me the trappings
of my lowly consciousness
in your service by your feet
is my place
even if I forget it sometimes…please never forsake me

O Bhagwan beautiful divine
mesmerise me each day I pray
not a moment may pass
in which I’ve not called You
with all my heart

Oh my forgiving Bhagwan set right this useless life
by your most loving grace
You are love
these eyes know your face
brand this heart forever with your merciful iron glance
