This blog post will be about what I have understood so far about what spirituality is. I am still learning, and I hope that I can devote more of my daily time to learning more about spirituality, either through meditation or surrender to the divine. I have been reading a lot of Swami Ji’s books and blogs, thanks to which I have learned so much from Swamiji Ji, and he is also one of the reasons I find myself connected to my inner self again. Thank you, Swamiji Ji ♥️.
I think spirituality is a journey of self-discovery that involves exploring the inner workings of our hearts and minds. We have heard from our childhood to “listen to your heart.” Now I somewhat understand what that means. We need to have some coordination between our heart and mind, and also to back that up with our actions, and to remove the unnecessary thoughts in our mind that take away from our heart because that heart will not go anywhere, and the moment you think you are doing everything right, your heart will strike a piercing bullet. That has happened to me, and at first I was not accepting it, but it has its own ways of making you realise that the heart and mind have some connection we don’t know about.
One of the key teachings of spirituality is the importance of letting go of our attachments. This allows us to connect with something greater than ourselves and to find a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in life. But reading and actually doing this in real life are hard. I am trying to be more lovable than I’ve been for my whole life by being nice and helping others, knowing that I don’t need anything in return from them, and it really feels nice like your soul was waiting for you to do that on a regular basis.
At the same time, you are living in this material world, and most of us don’t want to reject the material world or our desires. Instead, we are looking to find a balance between our spiritual and material needs. By embracing our passions and desires with awareness and detachment, we can find a deeper sense of joy and fulfilment in life.
Ultimately, spirituality is a journey of self-discovery and growth that requires us to be fully present in each moment and to embrace the wonder and mystery of life. I tend to keep worrying about my future, and as a result, I end up being sad, so I try to be present and be mindful. Some parts of my day I am able to do that, but for most of the day it seems impossible, so it is a very hard battle I guess we all are fighting, and I hope maybe compassion and meditation will surely improve me.
Thank you for reading this and taking your time.
JaiSri Hari 🙏
