I found Ethan reading a book in the library today. Honestly speaking, it was surprising as he does not like to read at all. Reading is not his thing although he is a librarian in my college. I noticed tears in his eyes. So, I closed my notes and asked him, why are you crying? He said he lost a friend a few days back. His friend met with an accident. Oh, I realized he was reading a book based on friendship.

I hugged him and I was trying to be empathetic. Then I talked to him for some time.  Sharing emotions helps in healing. So, I was just trying to be there to listen. Finally, after an hour, he started feeling better and he thanked me and gifted me a pen. There is nothing wrong with crying but crying every time is wrong. Ethan picked back himself with more positivity and hope after the conversation.   He said a beautiful thing in the end,

I will try to accept the impermanence and let go.

Keep smiling,

Thank you,

Riya Om
