My dad Kishore V Sonpal, was just short of 82, when he breathed his last on June 12, 2020, 01:24am. He built the habit of maintaining a diary right from his late twenties, when he took up his first job with Indian Railways, way back in 1964. His writings have stood the test of time. They are as relevant today, as they were, when he penned them down. I am sharing third of these diary entries. Just like me, hope you will also find subtle meaning in his writings.
Here is the Fourteenth share:
Transcript of the Image:
Do not take any legal steps against anybody for the recovery of your dues. This step will engender only bitterness, failure and frustration. Impatience denotes lack of faith in Him.
You must cultivate Ananya bhakti for God and practice constant remembrance for Him. The easy way to do this is to always keep his Holi name on your tongue. There is no easier way of concentrating your mind upon God, than constant chanting of his name.
Do not forget the truth that nothing here belongs to you. All including yourself, belongs to the supreme Lord of the Universe. The sense of possession is one of the main characteristics of the ego-sense.
This one is special. Dad did not write these lines in his diary, but he has actually practiced it. Always open to helping people, all through his life, he supported many people, including some who just made tall promises of returning back the money. Despite knowing that many of them might actually not return the money, he not only went ahead and helped those people, but true to the note above, refused to take any strong recourse or any legal action against those individuals.
