My dad Kishore V Sonpal, was just short of 82, when he breathed his last on June 12, 2020, 01:24am. A Karma Yogi at heart, he was a voracious reader. Not only he loved reading, he would be constantly gifting good books that he loved, to his friends and family. A few books, in fact, he got more than hundred copies and gave them all out for others to read. He was also a very disciplined writer. He built the habit of maintaining a diary right from the time after his engineering, when he took up his first job with Indian Railways, way back in 1964. His writings have stood the test of time. They are as relevant today, as they were, when he penned them down. I am sharing the second of these diary entries. Just like me, hope you will also find subtle meaning in his writings.
Here is the second share.
THE TRANSCRIPT OF THE IMAGE ABOVE:
CREATION
Creation is neither good nor bad. It is as it is. It is the human mind that puts all sorts of constructions on it, as it sees it from its own angle and how its suits its own interests.
A woman is just a woman, but one mind calls it ‘mother’, another calls it ‘sister’ and yet another calls it ‘aunt’ and so on. Men love women, hate snakes and are indifferent to the grass and stone by the roadside. These connections are the cause of all the misery in the world.
Creation is like the Peepul tree, where birds come to eat its fruit or to give shelter to themselves. Even men rest under the tree to cool themselves and take rest. Yet some men may even hang themselves on the same tree. Yet the tree lives it quiet life, unconcerned with and unaware of the vague uses that it is put to. It is the human mind that is the originator of all the trouble and then cries for help.
Is God so partial, so as to give peace to one and sorrow to another ?
In creation, there is room for everything, but men refuse to see the the healthy, the good and the beautiful and goes on whining like the hungry man, who sits beside a plateful of tasty food, but instead of stretching out his hand and reaching for the plate to satiate his hunger, prefers to lament. Whose fault is it here? God or Man?
But fortunately for man, God in his infinite mercy, never forsakes him.He always gives him new chances by providing him Gurus and scriptures to guide him to find error in his ways and ultimately, find, eternal happiness.

Written way back in 1970, his simple interpretation on God’s creation and how we humans interpret all that is around us, is quite deep and thought provoking. Welcome your feedback comments and thoughts.
