Surf the Waves

“You can’t stop the waves,

But you can learn to surf”

John Kabet Zinn

This quote says it all. Small or big waves will keep coming into our lives. We have to surf them with courage, determination, purpose; have faith in the Supreme and boom; peace to prevail soon.

This life is a fleeting adventure, let’s enjoy it and move on to the next and next and next until we merge with The One. The sooner we learn, the sooner we reach Moksha.

I love to watch surfing sitting on a beach or from a cliff. I get my heart thumping at times for their safety. They go on to the top of the waves, move inside, fall down, I completely lose them sometimes, I stand up just to discover “there he is … swimming back lying on his surfboard”, again jumps on it and turns on the movie. Adventurous! Finally, as soon as he surrenders to the sea, the waves push him back to shore with such ease, as if effortlessly, smiling ear-to-ear – he says: “Made It!“.

I relate this with our lives, full of waves we surf, we stand, we fall, we laugh, cry, we sometimes completely hide from the world, but eventually stand up again to repeat the same story once more. And this cycle goes on and on until we Learn, until She bestows Her blessings until we realize that it’s time to go home until we surrender. And I believe the final journey back to The Source happens on its own and is always blissful; smiling ear-to-ear – we’ll say: “Made It!“.
