Let me ask you a quick question to get things started: are you frequently recording your meditations in the journal swami ji gave you?

Even if you aren’t utilising it frequently, there’s no need to worry!

There could be various causes for this, such as you losing your notebook in which you wrote, the notebook not being available at the time of writing, you being too sluggish to search that notebook, and so on.

Similar problems troubled me, so I switched to keeping a digital rather than paper journal.

This is where keeping a digital journal comes in handy:

  1. Accessible at the tip of your fingers
  2. The number is simple to compute.
  3. Error-free data correction
  4. The ability to zoom in/zoom out with relative ease.
  5. Simple Data Transfer and Much More

With the help of Google Sheets, I have compiled the swami ji journal.

Get the Google Sheets app and make a copy of the file I just shared for you.

That’s all.

You can find a solution to your Google sheet problem by searching YouTube, if you face any!

You can start entering your numbers whenever you like, from anywhere you like, and not have to worry about the aforementioned issues.🙃

This is how it appears

You can find full details of this journal here.

In the Q&A session for his virtual retreat on meditation, swami ji addressed this tracker.

However, there are limitations to this tracker.E.g. Until I can objectively grade my meditative sessions, I won’t know if I’m making progress. I also posed this question on osme, but it seems like not many people are using meditation tracker. However, the most significant flaw of this tracker is that it does not provide guidance when you are performing poorly on a given metric. Say you consistently give a score of less than 5 for dullness; how might you work to raise it?

So, I aimed to create a system that would instruct me on the next steps to take based on my score; for example, those with a score of less than 3 in dullness/laziness would be advised to perform an internal body cleansing, those with a score of 4-6 would be advised to alter their diet, and so on for each metric. However, I plan to discuss the tracking system in a later post. I’m still in the process of designing it, but it will ultimately save us a lot of time by eliminating the need to have people rate their progress based on their moods.

If you have an effective grading strategy and method for evaluating the journal, please share it with us.
