Life may not let me choose my lot,
But whether I’d be happy or not…
That is my choice.

To leave hurtful memories behind
Or allow them to bother my mind…
The choice is mine.

To fret over a mistake when it’s done
Or learn from it and move on…
The choice is mine.

To be bothered by all that people say
Or ignore them and go my own way…
The choice is mine.

To hide my feelings, pent up, unspoken,
Or say my mind and ease the burden…
The choice is mine.

To enjoy what I’ve been able to gain
Or ungratefully regard it with disdain…
The choice is mine.

Sometimes I won’t get to pick my lot,
But whether I’ll be happy or not
Will always be my choice.

This poem is written by Abimbola T. Alabi with a very deep meaning which I want to share with os. me family and hope you all will understand this and apply it to your life.

Life may not give you many choices because your fate decides everything. But whether you want to stay happy or sad is your choice. To leave hurtful memories behind or to let them bother your mind is your choice. To learn from your mistake and move on is your choice. To be bothered by people or to ignore them is your choice.

To hide your feelings or to say others about that is also your choice. To enjoy on your profit or to become sad about your loss is your choice. Sometimes you don’t get a choice between your likes and dislikes but to stay happy or sad will always be your choice.

This poem indicates the beautiful meaning that you don’t have so many choices but to stay happy, sad, think positive, negative, restlessness is your choice. You have to think about what is right for you and which choice is best for you. Because your choices decide your future.

If you don’t forget the past or bother your mind with people’s taunts or repeat your mistakes you will drag into depression or anxiety. But when you choose to stay happy in any condition and forget the past, learn from your mistakes… You can lead a very peaceful life. So learn to stay happy in every situation for a peaceful life.

Stay happy always 🤗
